How to Style An Oversized White Button-Down Shirt

If I had to describe my style of fashion it would definitely be comfortable casual. I am so happy that the new trend has shifted back to more of a relaxed, oversized and even baggy fit. As a former ”Tomboy” in the late 90s and early 2000s, this type of comfort and style goes unmatched for the woman always on the go.

I came across this beautiful oversized white button-down in Zara during one of their biggest and only sales of the year. I had to have it! White button-downs are already a timeless piece that you should have in your closet. They can be paired with just about EVERYTHING! If your anything like me, looking cute is always the goal but doing it comfortably is the main objective.

Here are a few ways to style your oversized button-down shirt.

Style #1

This is as simple as it gets! I added my thigh length brown Teddy coat for texture, color and warmth against the pure whiteness of the shit. Knee high socks with patent leather boots from H&M. A black choker would have done this look more justice but it could be just as simple with a gold necklace.

Style #2

You’ll notice just a few changes to style #1 that makes style #2 a whole vibe. I took away the coat and added a skinny black belt to give my shirt more of an hour glass shape. Still with the knee high socks and boots, this look is sexy and fun. If you are a lover of all outfits matched with heels, check out this styled look on my Instagram with the same oversized shirt. I added a wider faux snake skin belt and black thigh-high suede boots.

Style #3

It was time to add layers! The shirt can be worn as a dress but this style shows the piece in its true form. A shirt! Still rocking my patent leather boots I hopped into my blue stone washed jeans from Old Navy and added a bit of a “Bad Girl” vibe in my black leather jacket with silver rivets and details. This style could also be rocked effortlessly without the jacket but honestly, why would you want to?
